People in our Community – Farmer Frank meets Year 1 Students

This term the Year 1 students have been learning about people who help us in the community. Last week the students had the opportunity to meet Frank Primerano, a sweet corn and cattle farmer from a small country town called Whorouly, in North East Victoria. Using a Facetime call, Frank showed the students around his farm. He showed the students how his corn is grown and harvested using a big picking machine. Frank also showed the students his cows and the students got to name a new born calf. They named him Roger! At the end of the Facetime call, the students got to peel and cook fresh, yummy corn from Frank’s farm. In the afternoon the students wrote letters to Frank, thanking him for the corn. Frank has since written back. He was very happy to receive all  the wonderful, well written letters.
