Foundation Buddies
Our Year 4 students love being Buddies with their Foundation students. Each Year 4 class has been matched with a Foundation class this year. During the first few weeks, the Year 4 students looked after their buddies in the playground, showing them around the school, teaching them how to play with others and be safe on the playground equipment, and helping them find their way back to the classroom when the bell rang.
The Year 4 classes now meet with their Foundation students every week in the Library to share books and build a mentoring friendship for the next few years until our Year 4 students graduate at the end of Year 6. The Foundation students have already learnt so much from their mentors and the Year 4 students are very proud of their successes this term. Next week we will work together in the classroom too. We are really looking forward to continuing these friendships.
